The Mansfield
Township Police Department is starting a new program to help keep your
property secure. Simply fill out a
Property Check Request Form.
The form is also available at
the Police Station. Once completed, you may e-mail the form to the Community
Policing Unit or drop it off at Department Headquarters.
How the Program
Works:
During their patrol, officers will
periodically drive by and complete a physical walk around of your residence to check on its security.

NJ Helmet Laws

With the onset of summer
and warm weather, more children will be outside participating in a
variety of activities. All parents need to be aware of the mandatory
helmet laws in New Jersey.
There are mandatory
helmet laws for ALL CHILDREN UNDER 17 YEARS OF AGE when
they participate in the following activities: |

bicycle (N.J.S. 39:4-10.1) |
 | Using
Rollerskates (Including In-Line Skates) (N.J.S. 39:4-10.5) |
 | Using a
Skateboard (N.J.S. 39:4-10.5) |

In addition, the law
states that the parent or legal guardian of the violator may be
fined a maximum of $25 for a first offense and a maximum of $100 for a
subsequent offense.
Child Safety Seat Program
As a service to Mansfield Twp residents, the
Mansfield Twp Police Department is providing scheduled appointments for
child safety seat belt checks by trained sealt belt technicians. Residents
are asked to bring with them the seat to be checked, the vehicle that the
seat is to be installed in, the vehicle's owners manual, and the safety
seats manufacturer's manual. Technicians will install the seat(s) and
educate the owner(s) in how to install their child safety seat(s). The
installation process takes approximately 30-45 minutes, dependant upon
number and type of seat(s).
Available dates will be posted on this site. To participate in a Child
Safety Seat Check, please complete the registration form and return it to
the Mansfield Twp Police Department. You will be contacted with a
confirmation of the date you have choosen.
Special child safety seat events will be hosted periodically in the Township
by the Police Departmen in cooperation with the Burlington County Sheriff's
Department's Child Safety Seat Team. Check back on this
page for those dates as they are scheduled.
